FAİLİ MEÇHUL

The first time I performed 'victims with unknown-murderers' in the exhibition of 'citizen: speak Turkish'in Darphane-I Amire 2005. I had used 100-150 photos and balloons to remind 'the loss of people' who systematically disappeared especially in 90s. Their bodies may have never been found, the killings never been taken seriously by the media, and their murderers may have never been clarified or captured, and at last the victims have been all forgotten. At the end of my work in Darphane-I Amire, we had flied all the balloons that had the pictures of the lost people on them. The idea was trying to explain that those victims soul are not in peace. At that time while we were staring at the balloons, we promised each other to do this again.

Our idea is to bring people face-to-face with the victims whose murderers are unknown. There also will be the victims whose murderers are known, but whom 'the system' wants us to forget. Hasan Gultekin will join to Hasan Ocak over there, Yusuf Yildiz and Guldunya will be talking each other, Ahmet Kaya and Metin Goktepe are going to sing a song together while passing you. Hrant Dink and Metin Altiok will meet each other in there. Ugur Mumcu is waiting to get out impatiently. Ahmet Kaymaz and his son Ugur will fall down and you will help them to stand up. They and we all will be there on June 10th. All the victims will come together and face the people who stand behind of the statement 'This is the shame of Turkey'. This is a great chance to meet friends and to refresh our memories. You will be able to get the opportunity to take Metin, Ugur and Aziz with you after the exhibition and let them fly up in the sky. By doing that you will also send greetings to 'Saturday Mothers' who had to give up looking for their children.
