L'INVITATION

 

Charles Cré-Ange, one of the most famous chareographer of France came to Istanbul for a while to prepare a work for Çıplak Ayaklar Company. The work was first performed in 14. İstanbul Theater Festival and seen with gret joy. For this cultural exchange that is of great importance for both Turkey and France, Charles Cré-Ange says:  "For me, it's no coincidence to ask the question of identity in İstanbul. All the geographical, ethnical and historical aspects of this city gave me the desire to put the city as the main theme of this creation. Dancers' reaction, besides being temporary and partial, were very astonishing.  Taking the two different worlds as a starting point was combined masterfully with consideration and seperation of  wedding photos from 70s. The run along  the dramaturgy  can be considered as an eulogy to escape if not a representation of a very reasonable uneasiness, and of course it can also be an unmeasurable love for movement, life, and dance. "
