MEHMET LOVES PEACE

"Mehmet Loves Peace", this unfinished piece was inspired by Mehmet Tarhan.But it is not about his story, it is about militarism that has surrounded
all around us; violence; being followed; and loosing lives on the wars. Itaimed at to remind the questions of "getting killed for what?? for whom?? "or "killing who?? and what for??" The grandma on the stage represents the mother of all people who has lost their lives on this soil; all militants and soldiers, who have been killed. She searches for the answer of only one single question; how many more mothers in this world must send their children to a war that has no reason at all?? In a country like this, inwhere the violence and nationalism has an upward trend, we remember, and also want to remind you what Mehmet has said: "People do not die so easy."

("Mehmet Loves Peace": Baris means peace, but is also a widespread male name. The gay/lesbian movement in Turkey does use this slogan quite often.)
